Overview

Safety Is More Than a Priority, It's Our Foundation

At Universal Piping Industries, safety is more than a program — it is a core value that guides every decision we make. From engineering and fabrication to field installation and project closeout, our commitment is simple: Every employee goes home safely, every day.

Creating a safe work environment requires planning, accountability and the active participation of every member of our team. That's why safety is integrated into every phase of every project — not treated as a separate initiative.

Our Commitment

Building a Culture of Safety

A safe workplace doesn't happen by chance — it is built through preparation, leadership and continuous improvement. At UPI, every level of our organization shares responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. Management establishes the standards, provides the resources and reinforces expectations, while every employee is empowered to identify hazards, follow established procedures and stop work whenever conditions are unsafe. We believe that production and safety go hand in hand. Delivering projects efficiently should never come at the expense of protecting our people.

The UPI Safety Philosophy

Our Three Core Principles

Our safety program is built around three simple principles that guide every project.

Understand the Work

Every task begins with identifying potential hazards and understanding the safest way to perform the work. Through planning, job hazard analyses and daily communication, our teams ensure risks are recognized before work begins.

Prevent Incidents

Preparation is our strongest safety tool. Comprehensive training, proactive planning, routine inspections and continuous monitoring help prevent incidents before they occur.

Improve Through Investigation

Continuous improvement is fundamental to our safety culture. Every incident — including near misses — is investigated to determine root causes and identify opportunities for improvement. Corrective actions are implemented, communicated and monitored to help prevent future occurrences.

Safety & Quality

Safety Through Accountability

Leadership at Every Level

Safety Through Accountability

Safety is everyone's responsibility. Every manager, superintendent and supervisor is accountable for creating and maintaining safe working conditions, while every employee is empowered to take ownership of safety on the jobsite. This shared commitment creates a culture where accountability, communication and teamwork protect both people and projects.

Standards Without Compromise

Safety Compliance

UPI maintains rigorous safety standards across every shop and jobsite. Training, inspections and documented procedures keep our teams aligned with regulatory requirements and our own expectations for safe execution.

Better Planning. Better Outcomes.

Safety Drives Better Projects

Safe projects are well-planned projects. Integrating safety into engineering, fabrication and field execution reduces disruption, protects schedules and supports consistent quality from start to finish.

The UPI Standard

Built With Pride. Delivered With Accountability.

Every system UPI fabricates and installs reflects the skill, discipline and pride of our team. Our commitment to quality is not limited to a checklist or final inspection. It is part of how we plan, communicate, fabricate and build every day.

From the shop floor to the field, UPI remains focused on delivering mechanical systems that meet customer expectations, support critical operations and stand the test of time.
